Birds of a Feather Art Show

The Southeast Colorado Arts Council in conjunction with the High Plains Snow Goose Festival Committee will be hosting the “Birds of a Feather” Art Show starting Thursday, February 21, 2013.  This art show will feature artwork from local artists and a special showing of paintings by Marie Whiting.

The three-day “Birds of a Feather” art show will be held at the Shore Arts Center on South Main Street in Lamar on the Thursday, February 21st and will conclude Saturday, February 22nd at 4pm.  All area artists are invited to show and offer their work for sale free of any fees.  A maximum of three pieces of artwork will be allowed per artist. Twenty percent of the proceeds from any sales will be used by  the Southeast Colorado Arts Council to defray expenses and to support the Shore Arts Center.

The lower Arkansas Valley is rich with talented artists and programs. Your continued support will allow the Arts Council to continue to work and support local artists as well as those from outside the region and beyond.  If you enjoy art, would like to learn more about the creative process, and would like to support the arts in southeast Colorado, please plan to attend the Southeast Colorado Arts Council’s, “Birds of a Feather” Art Show February 21 through the 23 this year.

2012 Autumn Art Show

The Southeast Colorado Arts Guild in conjunction with The Southeast Colorado Arts Council is proud to present this Fall’s Autumn Art Show at the Shore Art Center starting Tuesday, October 26th.  This art show will run for only four days. Here is the current schedule:

Tuesday-Friday, October 23-26: 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

A wine and cheese reception will be held on Thursday, October 27 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Shore Art Center. Awards will be given out at this time.

SECAC Presents the “Hotter Than Hell” Summer Art Show!

The Southeast Colorado Arts Council is proud to present this summer’s Big Art Event at the Shore Art Center starting July 26th. This art show will run for only four days. Here is the current schedule:

Thursday, July 26 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM
(Wine & Cheese Artists Reception)
Friday, July 27 and Saturday, July 28 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM
Sunday, July 29 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM
(Artists need to pickup their artwork)

The Southeast Colorado Art Guild Autumn Art Show was highlighted Thursday evening, October 27, during its week display at the Shore Arts Center on South Main Street in Lamar. Bev Middleton, Guild President said there were 135 entries this year from 47 artists. Cash awards were offered for Best-of-Show, First Place in each category, and an Area Award for best depiction of a landmark within 100 miles of Lamar. There was also the Popular Choice and President’s Awards. The exhibit will be open on Saturday from 10am to 4pm.
